Test Engineer to work on remote / in Strasbourg

We are looking for a Test Engineer to work in the context of the EU’s Prüm framework, for a client project, at multinational Institution in Strasbourg.

 

“The Prüm framework enables automated cross-border exchange of DNA, fingerprint, and vehicle registration data among EU Member States for the purpose of law enforcement and crime investigation.”

 

Work location: 80% on-site work in Strasbourg and 20% remote

 

Start date: Immediately

 

Duration: 1 year; possible extensions

 

Contract: Freelance only

 

Preliminary Requirements: Candidate should be citizen of member states of the European Union (EU nationality), and should be able to get their criminal record.

 

Role:

The required profile is a Test Engineer and the tasks foreseen to be covered by the services requested include as follows:

 

  • Definition and execution of the testing strategy for Prüm II

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automated testing scripts (functional, integration, and performance).
  • Create and maintain test cases for:
    • RESTful API validation,
    • Full end-to-end system workflows.
  • Conduct load, stress, and scalability tests in a cloud environment.
  • Support corrective testing during the final two months by identifying and resolving critical defects.
  • Develop and implement RESTful API endpoints for fingerprint data exchange.
  • Develop structured logging, traceability, and system auditing.
  • Contribute to the generation of synthetic training datasets for testing.

 

Desired Technologies & Skills:

  • University degree (master or equivalent) in Computer Science
  • Languages: Java (Spring Boot) 17,21.
  • APIs: RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, JSON Schema, gRPC.
  • Testing Frameworks: JUnit, Cucumber, Postman/Kreya/Newman, Karate, Jmeter, Gatling, or k6.
  • CI/CD Automation: GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Argo CD.
  • Cloud Environments: Kubernetes (GKE, AKS, EKS).
  • Other Tools: JIRA/xRay, REST-assured, Docker, synthetic data tools (Faker, Mockaroo).
  • Very good English speaking & writing skills.
  • Experience and willingness of working in an international/multicultural environment.
