Project Manager for the EU Agency AMLA in Frankfurt am Main – Interim/Zeitarbeit

We are looking for a Project Manager (M/F/D) for a multinational client in Frankfurt/Main, the EU Agency Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism AMLA.

Client:

  • The Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA) is a decentralised EU agency that coordinates national authorities to ensure the correct and consistent application of EU rules. The aim of the EU Authority is to transform the anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) supervision in the EU and enhance cooperation among financial intelligence units (FIUs).
  • At the AMLA you can become part of an international and multicultural team presently in its set-up phase.

 Main tasks:

An experienced external project manager will ensure governance, legal obligations, technical measures, maintain momentum, and act as a liaison between technical and business streams. The Project  Manager would coordinate business tasks, track progress and ensure that deadlines are met on all workstreams staying aligned with the IT Project Manager.

  • Coordinate and integrate multiple workstreams to ensure workflows, technical requirements, and compliance measures align.
  • Assist the FIU Operational unit in the coordination and leadership of the cross-organisational team for the FIU.net transfer as well as the setting up of joint analyses, including IT, legal, and business streams.
  • Help to move the project plan to the next level, using standardized project management methods
  • Monitor adherence to the detailed project plan, including phases, milestones, and deliverables (e.g., workflows, database requirements, security protocols).
  •  Identify resource gaps and allocate expertise effectively.
  • Support communication efforts with all stakeholders, ensuring regular updates and feedback loops.
  • Align priorities between all involved teams, including the FIU pillar, IT, the security officer and the data protection officer, and leadership.
  • Track progress and monitor deliverables against timelines using dashboards or reports.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices for continuous improvement and future AMLA projects.
  • Perform administrative Project Management tasks, such as organizing meetings, keeping notes, ensuring task management tools are kept up to date
  • Assist in proactively managing risks to avoid delays or service disruptions.

Qualifications:

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, business Administration or related field
Advantageous: official project management qualification, such as PMP, PRINCE2, CSM or similar

Professional Experience:

Essential:

  • At least 5 years of experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Proven experience in project planning and coordination involving technical, legal, and compliance workstreams.
  • Experience in data governance, methodology alignment, and risk management.

Advantageous: Familiarity with AML/CFT frameworks and cooperation with national FIUs is an asset.

IT Skills:

Essential: Understanding of IT infrastructure and data transfer processes.

Language Skills:

Essential: Excellent written and spoken English (mandatory).

Other skills and competences:

Essential:

  • Strong coordination skills for cross-organisation teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage interdependencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide structure in an unstructured environment
  • Proven experience in project planning and coordination involving technical, legal, and compliance workstreams.
  • Experience in data governance, methodology alignment, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with AML/CFT frameworks and cooperation with national FIUs is an asset.

  • Above market level salary
  • German interim employment contract (Zeitarbeitsvertrag/Arbeitnehmerüberlassung)
