Project Management Officer for the EU Agency AMLA in Frankfurt am Main – Interim/Zeitarbeit
We are looking for a Project Management Officer (M/F/D) for a multinational client in Frankfurt/Main, the EU Agency Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism AMLA.
Client:
- The Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA) is a decentralised EU agency that coordinates national authorities to ensure the correct and consistent application of EU rules. The aim of the EU Authority is to transform the anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) supervision in the EU and enhance cooperation among financial intelligence units (FIUs).
- At the AMLA you can become part of an international and multicultural team presently in its set-up phase.
Main tasks:
The Project Management Officer (PMO) at AMLA will provide structure to all upcoming projects within the organization.
- Design and Implement PMO Methodology
- Support, the design of a scalable project management framework tailored to the organization’s size and maturity.
- Create templates, governance structures, workflow descriptions, and process maps.
- Ensure alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements where relevant
- Advisory Support for Project Setup
- Support departments in structuring newly initiated projects.
- Provide advice on realistic planning, resource sizing, risk identification, and stakeholder management.
- Facilitate workshops to define scope, requirements, and success criteria.
- Enablement and Training
- Train internal staff—including the internal PMO resource and project owners—on the PM methodology.
- Develop training materials, “quick guides,” and onboarding documents.
- Ensure sustainable knowledge transfer so the PMO can operate independently after contract end.
- Establish PMO Operational Processes
- Support setup of reporting routines, steering committees, and cadence for project oversight.
- Review project documentation for consistency and quality.
- Advise the PMO Lead on maturity improvements and change-management approaches.
Qualifications:
Formal Project Management Certification (e.g. Prince2, PM2 or PMBOK)
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years in PMO
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing PMO structures, governance, and methodologies.
- Proven track record of delivering project management frameworks or transformation programs in complex environments.
- Experience training, coaching, or mentoring non-PM professionals.
- Prior experience with methodology design (templates, playbooks, governance documents)
IT Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 ecosystem:
- MS Word (templates, formatting standards)
- MS Excel (tracking tools, logs, dashboards)
- MS PowerPoint (training decks, governance documentation)
- MS Teams (collaboration, workshops)
- MS Planner / Project / other PM tools
- SharePoint Online (PMO documentation structure, repositories)
- Ability to create structured templates, process diagrams, and workflows using: Visio / Miro / Lucidchart or equivalent
- Comfortable working with digital collaboration tools.
Language Skills:
Fluent English (written and spoken)
Other skills and competences:
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to translate complex PM concepts into simple, practical tools and guidance.
High level of self-organization and autonomy.
Pragmatic, hands-on working attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience driving change initiatives.
Ability to work under time pressure while maintaining high quality standards
Remuneration:
- Above market level salary
- German interim employment contract (Zeitarbeitsvertrag/Arbeitnehmerüberlassung)
