For a new challenging client project we are looking for Data-Management consultant (m/f/d) who can support us in the process of data modelling as well as a preliminary analysis and design of a cataloging tool.
The consultant will support us in the process of preliminary analysis and design of a tool for cataloging a huge collection of official publications.
The new system will replace a current Integrated Library Management System Virtua. New and legacy data created/managed by the new system will feed into existing information systems of our client.
Your profile:
- Higher education in IT or information management (EQF level 7 or higher);
- capacity to analyse and formulate answers to conceptual or practical questions on issues associated with data models and application of semantic principles;
- very good presentation skills (to provide adhoc and/or scheduled trainings on specific subjects) are important;
- relevant first professional experience;
- ideally knowledge of several bibliographical metadata standards and formats, in particular Bibframe, New RDA, Marc21, IFLA-LRM and ONIX;
- experience in mapping and transformation of metadata formats in a library/publishing environment;
- experience in large-scale data migration;
- very good command of English, both written and verbal;
- experience in elaboration of specifications for the creation of a cataloging tool.
